I don’t know why.

But have you noticed?  All of a sudden emails, forum posts and everywhere I look people are talking AGAIN about info product creation.

Of course, I’ve NEVER not talked about it.

Why?

Because it works.  The question is why does it work?

1.  You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to understand the basics of creating products.

I mean, if you have Open Office, you can create info products.

2.  It’s evergreen.

My products about info product creation are just as topical now as they were 10 years ago.

A few of the tools have changed. Sorta.  My friends are STILL using headsets for audio just like you did a long time ago.

The quality is better.  But it’s the same thing.

3.  You can recruit affiliates to SELL your products for you

This is a major benefit.  You’re either at the bottom of the food chain or on top as a product owner.

4.  You make all the money instead of 1/2.

You gotta like that.

Now, people who have a vested interest in getting you to do other forms of marketing will give you all the downsides of creating products.

Most of those are a smoke screen.

Really, there aren’t many downsides other than those obstacles in between the ears about being able to create something of value.

The best solution to THAT is to partner up with a few people you meet in forums or at seminars and create products together.

Make a party out of it!

A Simple Lesson in Sales


I recently had some homemade tamales for dinner.

Now that in itself is not earth shattering or even front page news.

What it is or what I should say is that it opened my eyes to some simple salesmanship.

I’d like to share them with you.

The tamales were made by a nice little older Mexican woman that lives down the street from me.

Every week or so she goes door to door asking people if they are interested in buying some of her tamales.

(What a great concept, going out and finding a target market; hungry people) We can apply this to whatever widget it is we are trying to sell.

Also, her price is right. $5.00 for 5 tamales, you can have chicken or pork. Fair price in my eyes. Also applies to our products.

Then she over delivers.

I asked for 5 pork, she handed me my tamales on a paper plate, wrapped in tinfoil, and might I add still hot. Talk about a fresh product!

Anyways, I came into the house, unwrapped them only to discover instead of 5, I received 7, excellent bonus!

The tamales are always very tasty too.

I wonder if this woman realizes how smart she is in the game of selling.

So simple.

Made me realize I think I sometimes over complicate things in sales.

The Secret To Getting Cash In The Door In A Jiffy

So it’s the new year.

You have bills to pay, things to do, places to go, people to see.

You need cash.

How do you get cash in the door?

My advice is simple:

Focus on getting products OUT the door to bring cash IN the door. Info Product Dashboard

I’d rather have an imperfect product OUT the door than I would a perfect product on my hard drive but 90% finished.

And if you’ve been in this business long, you’ve been there.

Here’s your action list:

1.  Do a 12 product survey

You can skip this if you just can’t seem to get it done.
A lot of people get stuck here.

I’d rather have a product OUT the door without a survey than one that never gets started for LACK of a survey.

2. Write a totally rocking sales letter

Do this before you create the product.  If you can’t write, go to WarriorsForum in the copywriting area and hire a writer you can afford.

There are all kinds of prices of talent there.  You can afford someone.  And if you can’t write at all, for $200 you’ll find someone better than you.

3.  Get the product DONE.

You can do audio, screen capture video, an ebook.
Whatever.

Get it done.

4.  Get it out the door.

Now, do that 10 times in 2009!

Out of 10 products one will be a really good seller.  Three or four will pay the bills.  A few will be duds.

Here’s what you do.

Either plan to write 300 words a day on your new product. Or map out who you will interview to create the product.

Here’s some words of advice based on experience.

Get your product done NOW by following these simple
steps:

1.  You go to row one, icon one.
2.  You follow the steps
3.  The next day you go to row one icon two.
4.  Follow the steps.

The product will morph and change as you write it.

You’ll write and realize this or that doesn’t flow or make sense.  It’s a dynamic thing. A work in progress. Let it take shape as you write it.

Can you devote just ONE HOUR a day to creating a new product?

If you can, and you interview a few people, then transcribe the interviews, you’ll have a new product in no time.

Want to get cash in the door?

Step one: Find wants

Step two:  Write sales letter

Step three:  Create product

Step four:  Sell product

MY ADVICE:  If you can write, write.  Do an ebook. If you can talk, talk.  Do audio CD’s or podcasts.  If you can do video, do video.  Screen capture video rocks.

If you can’t write, can’t talk and can’t do video, go to elance.com and find someone who can!

My ADVICE for this new year is to get products OUT the door.
DOUBLE the number of products you did last year.

If you didn’t get even one product out the door last year, you didn’t FOCUS. Because it doesn’t take any longer than 6 weeks. And can be done much faster once you know what you’re doing.

So this year, it’s EASY to improve last year. If you didn’t get even one product out the door last year, then get one out the door in January of THIS year!

“But Marlon, I ain’t gotta list.  How the ()_$# am I gonna SELL the product?”

By SELLING products!

A hot product will ignite affiliates, get you traffic and grow your list.

This is why I’m a huge advocate of creating an affiliate program for your product.  And getting traffic from affiliates.

Want cash IN the door?

Get products OUT the door?

“Marlon, I don’t know what to do.  I need money IN the door.
How do I get money IN the door?”

Answer:  Get products OUT the door

“Marlon, how do I get products OUT the door?  I don’t know HOW?”

Answer:  Learn how

“Marlon, I’m not spending any money.”

Answer:  Sometimes the wisest investment you make is a little bit of knowledge.  The knowledge on how to get products OUT the door and sell ‘em.

“Marlon, I got TOO MANY things going to FOCUS on getting products out the door.  I need money. So I gotta do all these THINGS.”

Answer:  What else you got to FOCUS on other than getting products out the door so you can get money IN the door?

Honestly.

That IS the only thing you need to focus on if you need money IN the door.  Get prdoucts OUT the door and promote them.

“Marlon, do I create my own product or promote affiliate products?”

Answer: You write an ezine or create an email list the way I teach.
Then you send out emails just like the one I’m sending you now.

You link to your OWN products and you link to AFFILIATE products.
So you do both.

The common denominator is having a list and sending out both content and promotions TO that list.

All gurus DISAGREE on about everything under the sun.

They AGREE on one thing:

You should buy THEIR product.

They PROMOTE with one method:  Affiliate programs and joint ventures.

Want to get cash in the door like the “gurus?”

Then go and do thou likewise.

What what people DO. Not what they SAY.

DO what they DO.

They create products and promote them via affiliate programs and joint ventures.

So DO it.

Now, banner ads, ppc and all other forms of advertising are good also.
But affiliate programs and bread and butter.

And that’s the truth.

Like it or not.

Whether “gurus” admit it or not.

Whether you believe it or not.

Don’t matter.

It’s the truth.

Now go and do thou likewise.

How To Make 2009 Your Best Year — Ever!

There’s a lot of negative news out there.

But I expect 2009 to be my best year EVER!

That may sound weird if you’ve been sucked into the negative news dark cloud.

Here’s the thing.

There’s a great deal of research that proves the companies who do best in challenging times are the ones who promote the most and are the most aggressive.

You have two choices in front of you right this minute.
Today.  This hour.

Are you gonna just fold up in 2009 and get stuck in the parlysis of “doom-and-gloom” thinking?

Or are you gonna rip out the cobwebs and take action?

You either sit there, get depressed, and play games on the computer.

Or you get aggressive about your front end and back end marketing.  So honestly, I want to ask you, which will it be?

Now, before you post, here’s something you might consider:

All change creates opportunity.  You just have to SEE the opportunity.  For example, right now psychic services are booming.

Now, I’m personally been inspired by the writings of Michael Masterson on goal setting.

Here’s his video on Youtube and it shows how he writes out his goals for the year then translates them to monthly, weekly and daily goals.

I’ve JUST finished doing this for 2009.  It’s a very liberating feeling.

What did my goals consist of?

1.  How I’m going to ramp up our traffic.

In other words, what additional steps will we take.

2.  What new front-end products will I come out with?

3.  What new back-ends will I put in place.

Then I set out monthly targets. Each month you translate those into weekly targets.

And each week you turn them into daily targets.

I can almost guarantee you this:  If you ramp up your traffic compared to last year, and come out with hot, new front-end and back-end products, this WILL be your best year ever.

Either that, or just give it up.

Sit back, watch TV.  Eat bon bons.  Watch all the negative news and get depressed.

Or turn off the negative news, throw out the bon bons, start an exercise program, set your monthly goals and hop to.

Want to know how to find the TIME to work on your goals?

Shut off all the negative stuff on the news, and cut out other things that simply WASTE time away and you know it.

You either get STUCK in paralysis or you take aggressive action. There really aren’t any other choices.

Now, do you just STOP buying any info products at all?
Or what do you do?

Let me share with you what I’m doing.

As you know, I spend a lot on my own personal education.
I’m cancelling a few memberships I feel I don’t get a lot of value from. I’m starting up some NEW ones I feel will meet my goals better.

And I’m still buying things that are 100% relevant to my goals of how I want to boost our traffic and so forth.

Products inspire me and give me motivation.

If you STOP learning, you stop growing.  If you stop growing, you die.

Will you learn?  Will you grow? Or will you mentally and emotionally die?

I DO think you need to look for info products that meet the monthly goals you set out.

Here’s what I want you to do.  Post on my BLOG which of these is your biggest challenge and which you need the most help with.

1.  How will you get traffic to your web site or sites?

You can set up your own affiliate program.

You can also do organic seo or pay-per-click.  Or buy banner ads on targeted blogs and forums.

2.  What front-end products will you create?

You need to create 10 front-end products to get ONE blockbuster.
Now, out of 10, 3 or 4 will sell really strong.  And you’ll have a few mediocre ones and a few busts.

It’s a numbers game and don’t let anyone else tell you otherwise.

3. What will you sell on the back end?

How will you get repeat business?

Today, I’m going to spend time studying how one large company sells its back end.  I’ve already gotten on their mailing list and I have the back-end sales letters sitting in a box here ready to read.

You need at least ONE back-end product to funnel customers into.
When I first started with Amazing Formula, my back end was the “Big Course” which later became Cash Like Clockwork.

Your back end can be teleseminars and webinars to start with.
You can joint venture with others for content if you don’t have it yourself.

The KEY is to set your goals for the year.

Then break them down into monthly steps.

Then each month break those steps down into weekly ones.

And then daily.

Set aside one or two hours every morning to work on your goals.  Or whenever it is you HAVE time to work on your goals.
